To celebrate 30 years of Blur’s The Great Escape, the band presents a special 30th Anniversary Edition on double LP and digital formats. This edition includes the full original album plus a bonus LP of rare B-sides, many of which are being released on vinyl for the very first time.
Originally released on September 11, 1995, The Great Escape captured Britpop at its peak and solidified Blur’s place at the center of one of the most defining musical movements of the ’90s. Debuting at #1 in the UK, the album sold over 125,000 copies in its first week, eventually achieving triple platinum status with more than 900,000 sales to date.
The record features some of Blur’s most iconic singles, including “Country House” (#1), “The Universal” (#5), “Stereotypes” (#7), and “Charmless Man” (#5). Collectively, the singles have sold over 1.8 million in the UK, garnered more than 60 million YouTube views, and reached over 335 million global streams.
With its mix of biting satire, lush melodies, and cultural commentary, The Great Escape remains both a celebration and critique of mid-’90s Britain. This anniversary edition pays tribute to its enduring legacy with fresh context and long-awaited vinyl exclusives.
